Bear Foot Cabin

Forest Service Road to Weather Station Lookout

The Bearfoot Weather Station hike is a fun easy hike with one challenging steep scramble that leads you to a recently logged area with great views of the foothills. This 1.7mi round trip hike is a great option for a nice sunset viewpoint without having to drive the trailhead. This trailhead is right in the backyard. Check out the directions here.

  • Follow the directions of the back yard trail here.
  • Once you're on the forest service road, follow the road north until you see the logged area, with the trail leading to the top.
  • Follow that steeper narrow trail until you reach the top.
  • At the top you'll find another forest service road, follow this around, the road will split and will lead you close to the top of the little peak.

This will provide you a good lookout for sunsets and foothills. Unfortunately you can't see Mt. Rainier from here.
