White River access and sand bar

Access to the river and the sand bar is very easy and accessible by everyone. Just note, you might get a little wet crossing the river to the sand bar.

  • Walk down to the entrance of the neighborhood (Be careful as cars come in that entrance quite fast.)
  • Walk directly across Hwy 410. Hwy 410 can be a pretty busy road, so young kids need to be accompanied by older teenagers or adults.
  • Follow the path right up until you see the powerlines over head, then break left. You'll see a picnic table set back in the woods.
  • Continue down the path along the river, until you come to an opening. The water is pretty shallow here and the kids go crazy playing in the mud and sand, along with wading in the water.
  • Cross this shallow part of the river and continue to the sand bar, on the opposite side of the sand bar is the white river. This is a very fast running river, do not swim in the river.
  • If you follow the shallow part of the river, it diverts under some logs, but just prior to that there is a small swimming hole maybe 3-4 deep by 5-7 wide that is fun to play in.

Have fun and be safe
